Florida Georgia Line songs have established a reputation for hooky melodies, a feel-good vibe and the occasional dash of romance. With albums three and four they've found ways to mix the contagious quality of songs like "Cruise" with the depth of early ballads like "Dirt. Their biggest commercial hits also don't rank at the top of Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard's finest musical accomplishments.
Their debut single " Cruise " broke two major sales records: it was downloaded over seven million times, making it the first country song ever to receive the Diamond certification, and it became the best-selling digital country song of all time, with 24 weeks at number one, until it was surpassed in July by Sam Hunt 's " Body Like a Back Road ". Florida Georgia Line was formed in in Nashville, Tennessee , and began as a cover band. In December , they signed to the Big Loud Mountain label.
With their unique sound, the duo has managed to have a significant influence on the culture and direction of country music throughout the years, all while earning themselves a massive fan base and many accolades in the process. They themselves have also undergone an evolution in both their music and their personal lives, going from single guys singing good-time tunes, to married men and Hubbard becoming a father singing deeper songs about life and love. Throughout all of it, country music fans have been right there along with them on the ride. While Florida Georgia Line has had significant hits throughout the years, nothing compares to their very first song out of the gate. It has also sold more than 7 million copies to date. This single continued to establish the duo as the summer hitmakers they were quickly becoming. The song was also indicative of the party song culture that was prevalent at the time, with references to girls and alcohol, set to yet another addictive melody with just the beginnings of a pop-influenced beat.
